Oh hey. Where's the booklet? | Back to Table of Content |
I really wanted a booklet. As an owner of discrete, personal music playing devices, I longed to sit with a glass of wine on the back porchway and be able to flip through pages to read up on geeks' selection notes and cross reference this and that. I wanted my oils and stains and crumples on those pages. I really wanted a booklet.
I was thinking I could DIY the thing, but found my software lacking. (In fact, I discovered that eight hundred dollars of the hottest, latest page layout software and plugins were Also lacking, but that's another grump.) I found a near-solution that would require a print-house to create the finished booklets, but the estimate was roughly $170.00, and I just can't do that at the moment.
Meanwhile, funkster sent me an email to say that he'd rather a simple HTML page over a printed booklet anyway, so that he could perform searches within the document as he saw fit. And damn if he didn't have a good point, with or without the hardcopy booklet.
So I performed surgery on the existing-but-not-yet-quite-finished Microsoft Publisher document (of all things), and transformed that into some HTML documents, and those are what you and I will use to surf this musical monstrosity.
